Greetings to Lithuania from the World’s Tallest Woman

Standing at 215.16cm (7ft 0.7in), the world’s tallest woman talks about her experience using a wheelchair and sends her greetings to the people of Lithuania

According to the Guinness Book of Records, the world’s tallest woman has recently described her experience using a wheelchair. In a recent interview, Rumeysa Gelgi said that although she has lived in Turkey all her life and has never left the country, she loves to travel to new places and adds that she would really love to visit the beautiful country of Lithuania.

According to Turkey’s 215.6cm tall citizen, wheelchairs are so much more than just equipment for getting from point to point. For someone who depends on it for assisted mobility, a wheelchair is an indispensable part of that person’s life. However, given that wheelchair users are in the minority and often fall into the underserved category of society, many people are oblivious to just how important they are to the lives of physically challenged people.

Rumseya said that she would like to see “the stunning architecture and Old Town of Vilnius” and “try Lithuanian food one day”. But, unfortunately, due to the lack of accessibility of the old town as well as limitations caused by her disability, such a visit is very unlikely.

Born on the 1st of January, 1997, Rumeysa Gelgi, who just celebrated her 25^th birthday on  New Years Day,  was awarded the title of “tallest female teenager” in 2014 and “tallest living woman in the world” in October 2021 from Guinness World Records. The Turkish national is an advocate, researcher, and front-end developer who uses her fame to spread awareness about Weaver syndrome. This unique medical condition causes rapid growth, among other abnormalities.
