Lithuania to update its Red Book of endangered species

The Environment Ministry is buying the services of drafting the book from the Nature Research Centre for €250,000. The centre will have to review the protected species.

Tomas Tukačiauskas, the ministry’s senior specialist in charge of protected territories, told BNS that the new listing would adhere to the revised principles of assessment of plants and animals, provided by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
