Lithuanian foreign minister calls on other countries to help arm Ukraine

In his words, Lithuania is supporting the Ukrainian army as much as it can, without elaborating.

“We do not specify the arms (…) but that’s our support to the army based on our means. We are doing this and are calling on others to do so,” Linkevičius told journalists in Vilnius on Wednesday.

The foreign minister underlined that Russia was constantly sending weapons to separatists in eastern Ukraine and publicly denying that.

Speaking about the existing situation in eastern Ukraine, Linkevičius said the ceasefire agreement had been violated and “there have to be consequences”. He did not mention specific new sanctions against Russia, however.
