Misiūnas has refused to comment on the conflict between Nerijus Numavičius, main shareholder of Maxima Grupe’s operator Vilniaus Prekyba (Vilnius Trade), and minority shareholder Mindaugas Marcinkevicius who has accused companies in the group of tax evasion.
“In the professional sense, I see this as a challenge. Maximos Grupė is one of the biggest companies in the Baltic states and provides me, as a professional, with an interesting opportunity to use the experience and the know-how that I have, as well as to learn something new,” Misiūnas told BNS on Wednesday.
In Misiūnas’ words, the main objective he has been asked to achieve is to grow the business value of Maxima Grupė in Lithuania and on foreign markets.
“The main objective is sustainable growth of the business value, I cannot comment on any further detail just yet. (…) This has to do with domestic and foreign markets. Maximos Grupė has operations in a few countries, it is my duty to take care of the whole business without focusing on one part,” said Misiūnas.
He said he did not fear rather frequent changeover of various levels of management in Maximos Grupė and subordinate companies.
