PM goes to Rio to support Lithuanian athletes

Lithuanian Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius is travelling to Rio de Janeiro on Thursday to meet with Lithuanian athletes and to watch their performances.

On Friday, the PM will observe the canoeing event where Lithuanian Ignas Navakauskas is competing. He will also watch Laura Asadauskaitė-Zadneprovskienė‘s and Ieva Serapinaitė‘s performances in women’s modern pentathlon running and shooting (combined) competition.

On Saturday, Butkevičius will meet with Lithuanian athletes and coaches. The Prime Minister will also watch Justinas Kinderis‘ performance in men’s modern pentathlon shooting and running (combined) competition.

On Sunday, the Prime Minister will participate in the official closing ceremony for the Summer Olympic Games.

On Monday, the head of government will meet with the Lithuanian community in Rio de Janeiro.
