Ričardas Berankis qualifies for ATP Masters Series in Miami

The lucky Lithuanian, who is number 76 tennis player in the world, capitalized on the withdrawal of several big names from the tournament, like Swiss Roger Federer, Frenchman Richard Gasquet, Australian Nick Kyrgios and German Philipp Kohlschreiber.

According to the rules of the tournament, only the first 75 players in the world automatically qualify for the tournament.

The Lithuanian is in the 76th position, but luckily for Berankis, several players decided to withdraw from the tournament, pushing him up the list.

Just for the access to the main event of the prestigious Masters Series tournament in Miami, Berankis will get ten important ATP rating points and will add 10,000 US dollars to his bank account. If Berankis wins the tournament, he will receive 1000 ranking points and 900,000 US dollars.
