He will vie for TS-LKD nomination with MP Ingrida Šimonytė.
“I will take part in the Homeland Union – Lithuanian Christian Democrats’ primary elections,” Ušackas told journalists on Monday.
His statement came after Šimonytė announced earlier in the day her decision to take part in the TS-LKD primaries.
A bit earlier, economist Gitanas Nausėda announced his decision to run for president as an independent candidate, without seeking TS-LKD’s support.
