Interior Vice-Minister Justas Pankauskas says that the two refugee families have been resettled from Greece.
“The refugees resettled from Greece arrived very early in the morning. They are ten people, two families,” said the vice-minister.
For the first several months, the migrants will be placed at the Rukla Refugee Reception Centre for initial phase of integration, until the Migration Department makes the decision on their asylum status.
Among the newcomers are a single mother with two small children whose spouse remained in Syria.
The Kurdish family from Iraq includes five children, their mother who is a housewife and their father who used to work in construction.
