Last year, the AOTD checked more than 900 people who applied for a permission to work with or be provided classified information. In 2013, the AOTD denied access for 73 people.
Last year, the department received over 2,500 queries asking to verify the reliability of persons working in the national defence system who wished to receive access to classified information. The AOTD also checked 14 companies administering classified information that was entrusted to them.
Although information about the AOTD’s budget is confidential, yet it was said in the report that the budget increased by 20 percent in 2014, which allowed not only to retain the existing technical capacity but to develop and modernise it.
