6,000 residents in Lithuania would be evacuated in case of major Astravyets incident

Such evacuation is envisaged in the Lithuanian Ministry of the Interior’s updated residential protection plan, in case of a major incident in Astravyets amid weather conditions the least favorable to Lithuania.

“We have planned the evacuation of around 6,000 residents,” Edgaras Geda of the Fire and Rescue Department, told a press conference on Wednesday.
