63% of Lithuanians against longer academic year

“The majority are against longer academic year, with more opposition from the parents who have school-aged children,” Vladas Gaidys, Vilmorus CEO, told BNS in comment of the survey carried out in early April.

The plans to make the school year longer was supported by 15.6 percent of respondents, while 38.6 percent were in full disagreement and 24.1 percent were rather against. Another 21.5 percent said they were neither in support, nor against the proposed change, shows the poll.
