“I will not run the “Farmer” union in any elections. I believe that my life as a politician is drawing to a close,” A. Guoga told journalists on Friday.
A. Guoga emphasised having discussed social problems and Russian aggression at the European Parliament, thus having done his work.
“I believe I did my work well. There is need for rotation in politics, we need to allow new young people with drive, knowledge and experience to act and work for the sake of Lithuania,” the MEP commented.
He noted that he is absolutely not relinquishing the opportunity to run in any elections, however according to A. Guoga, for this to happen, suitable circumstances must arise.
Lrt.lt reminds that A. Guoga became interim leader of the Liberal Movement in May 2016 when Eligijus Masiulis withdrew from the office following a corruption scandal. However, the politician only led the party for five days. A. Guoga withdrew after making statements about other Liberals’ potentially criminal activities.
