“Germany – Berlin and Munich – directions of Air Lituanica, which has accelerated in 2014, particularly improved the incoming tourism, so we believe Hamburg will contribute to the flow of tourists to Lithuania as well. The opening of this route is a certain record, since we will operate more direct flights from Vilnius International Airport to Germany than any other airline company has ever did – as much as 16 flights per week in three directions,” says Simonas Bartkus, chief commerce officer at Air Lituanica.
Bartkus adds the company plans to carry at least 8,000 passengers during the first summer season, about 5,000 of whom should be Germans arriving in Vilnius for tourism and business matters.
Flights to Hamburg will be operated three times a week.
Air Lituanica also operates direct flights from Vilnius to Stockholm, Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, Berlin, Munich and Tallinn as well as seasonal flights to Prague and Billund.
