The maximum number of positions at government agencies, as set by the government, will be reduced so that it does not exceed the number of actually filled positions by more than 10%, according to a government statement.
Before making the decision to cut the positions, the government looked into actual vacancy filling rates at various agencies and found that the discrepancy exceeded 10% in the Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Energy, Ministry of National Defence, Ministry of Healthcare, Ministry of Communication, Ministry of Education, Office of the Chief Archivist of Lithuania, Tax Dispute Commission, Ethnic Minority Department and Civil Service Department.
