“UK rail industry is valued for its contribution to implementing large-scale strategic projects. I have no doubt that expertise offered by the UK companies can be useful for Lithuania and the three Baltic states participating in the Rail Baltica project as well,” said Saulius Girdauskas, Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications.
According to the deputy minister, Rail Baltica 2 project is important in many respects. Once the project is implemented, Lithuania will be more integrated into the European Union and increase the economic security. For businesses, the new European gauge will allow to ship goods to Europe and, thus, develop further their activities; the citizens will be offered a better quality, faster and safer travel across Europe.
