Canadian sues ex-Soviet officer for EUR 580,000 for father’s death in post-war Lithuania

“The suit is based on my moral experiences over my father. I have not have a father since my birth, I had to live my life knowing that my father was pointlessly murdered,” Wieromiejus said in his suit.

The Canadian resident did not attend the Friday’s hearing of a case where Vaclovas Lučinskas, a resident of Ukmergė, is suspected of murdering Wieromiejus’ father.

Lučinskas, 85-year-old former militia officer with a university degree and no previous criminal records, is charged with murder and deportation of civilians.
