“Responding to the requests of assistance and showing solidarity with those suffering in Ukraine, we have launched a support campaign in parishes, our aim is to collect warm clothes and shoes, canned food, baby diapers and other items needed by Ukrainians,” Caritas Lithuania head Janina Kukauskienė said in a press release.
Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Klaipėda, Genius Vygantas, is helping to organise the aid campaign. He is seeking for involvement of state institutions and businesses.
Caritas Ukraine has provided a list of most needed items: warm clothes, shoes, blankets and sleeping bags, as well as canned food and diapers.
Caritas Ukraine will be responsible for distributing the aid. The organisation has also called for people to donate money to Caritas account (indicated on the organisation’s website). The funds will be allocated to purchase medicine and medical supplies, especially needed in winter with increasing illnesses and deteriorating living conditions. The campaign concludes on 10 November.
