Commander of Lithuanian Riflemen’s Union notes importance of civic resistance

Speaking at the international conference Civil Defence in Hybrid Warfare held in Vilnius on Friday, the commander noted that the events in Ukraine show that ordinary conflicts are replaced by hybrid warfare, seeking to reduce the possibility that NATO collective defence abilities are employed.

“We have no doubt in soldiers’ capabilities to deliver an appropriate strike against the enemy. However, we must understand that the number of regular and volunteer forces is limited. Civic resistance would be one of the most important factors for Lithuania’s defence seeking to force the aggressor to abandon his intentions,” said Gubminas.
