Commissioner Oettinger to discuss EU budget with Lithuanian leaders

In the new EU budget beyond 2020, Lithuania will seek greater support for agriculture and regional development and will also try to secure funding for synchronizing its power grid with the Western European system and for the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant decommissioning projects.

Talks between the EU’s bodies and member states are expected to begin next year.

In Vilnius, Oettinger is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis, Viktoras Pranckietis, the speaker of the Seimas, and the ministers for energy, finance and agriculture.
