The party’s presidium decided on Thursday that the proposed candidates include MPs Mantas Adomėnas, Stasys Šedbaras, Arvydas Anušauskas and Paulius Saudargas, PM’s ex-adviser Mykolas Majauskas, political scientist Laurynas Kasčiūnas and Vilnius City Council member Valdas Bekunskas.
“The party’s branches will now open more intensive discussions of these and other names, and in a few weeks we will know the names proposed by the branches and see the decision of the Vilnius branches,” the party’s leader Andrius Kubilius told BNS after the meeting.
Local elections will take place in Lithuania on March 1 next year, including the first direct mayoral elections.
