Conservatives pull ahead of Peasant & Green Union in Seimas elections

Based on the results from 1,982 of the country’s 1,996 polling stations, the conservatives received 271,671 votes in the multi-member constituency, or 21.6 percent of the national vote, and can expect 20 seats in the Seimas.

The Peasant and Green Union dropped to second place with 271,648 votes, or 21.6 percent, and 19 mandates.

The Homeland Union has a lead of just over 23 votes, but the situation may still change as the results from some districts are not yet available,

The Social Democrats trail in third place with 14.44 percent of the vote and 13 seats, followed by the Liberal Movement with 9 percent and 8 seats, the Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania – Christian Families Alliance with 5.4 percent and 5 seats, and the Order and Justice Party with 5.3 percent and 5 seats.

Based on the preliminary results, other parties did not clear the 5 percent threshold to be allocated seats in the Seimas.
