The discovery was made on Thursday afternoon by officers from Vilnius Territorial Customs Office and the Customs Criminal Service, who were stopping and inspecting vehicles in Vilnius’ area of Jeruzalė.
The officers later spotted a van in a supermarket’s car park and decided to inspect it. The van was being loaded with various parcels and goods to be taken to Britain. The officers paid special attention to one shipment: a Vilnius resident planned to send six desktop computers.
After opening one of the computer boxes, the officers found it full of contraband cigarettes. And upon dismantling all six computers, the officers discovered 1,634 packs of Belarusian cigarettes NZ, worth 5,228 euros, including taxes.
