Yonhap was informed by MPs from the Parliament’s Intelligence Committee who participated in the in-house NIS briefing in Seoul.
North Korean authorities have not officially reported a single case of coronavirus infection, but closed borders shortly after the outbreak of the pandemic and used strict internal lockdowns to protect themselves from infections.
Despite the official absence of infections, in the first half of 2021, North Korea is to receive 1.99 million doses of the vaccine from the British-Swedish AstraZeneca company as part of the international COVAX distribution program.
