Covid-19. April 09

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) said on Friday that it has started investigating possible links between the Johnson & Johnson coronavirus vaccine and blood clots. Four cases were previously reported, one of which was fatal.

Three cases have been reported in the United States and one is in clinical trials, the EMA reports.

The EU has authorized the use of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, but vaccination has not yet started.

“Today we have exceeded 7 million vaccinations,” informed Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki during his visit to the new vaccination point in Skierniewice. “In May, perhaps 9 million vaccines will reach us, and in April, we have confirmed about 5.5 million doses,” added the head of the Polish government.

Lithuanian police will step up forces in Palanga this weekend, as they are waiting for an influx of tourists from all over Lithuania as travel restrictions are lifted.

“We heard the fears of the mayor of Palanga that this weekend could be difficult for Palanga, more difficult than usual because the traffic restrictions between municipalities have been lifted and it is natural that people miss the seaside, they miss Palanga and are getting ready to go to sea,” said Renatas Požėla, police commissioner general.

According to him, not only local policemen will be on duty in the seaside resort, but also policemen from the surrounding area and road patrols from the capital.

“If there are on average two, three, sometimes four patrols in Palanga, we plan that each weekend day, Palanga will be patrolled by up to 12 police teams, including foot patrols,” said the police chief.
