Covid-19. April 12

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda addressed the country’s citizens, encouraging them to participate in vaccinations.

“We have enough vaccines today, and there will be more each week. It is very important to take advantage of this opportunity to create collective immunity as soon as possible. We are entering a phase of mass vaccination and more and more people, regardless of age, may be vaccinated against the virus. But let’s not forget for whom this disease is most dangerous: our parents and grandparents, uncles and aunts. All the elders,” said the president.

Polish Olympians preparing for the Olympics can breathe a sigh of relief. According to unofficial information provided by RMF FM, they are to be vaccinated against the coronavirus by June.

The topic of vaccination of Olympians has been coming up for several weeks. The coronavirus pandemic is spreading around the world, and the number of people infected is growing rapidly every day. Under these circumstances, the athletes’ departure to Japan was associated with the risk of contamination. The government took up the matter and made a decision that was important for the Olympians.

The information provided by RMF FM shows that Polish athletes who will take part in this year’s Tokyo 2020 Olympics will be vaccinated by the end of June at the latest. Polish sports associations are to decide which groups of players will be vaccinated.
