Deadline for submitting bids in Lithuanian natl stadium tender extended to early Dec

The decision to extend the deadline had been made on September 19, Lina Melianienė of the local authority of Vilnius told BNS.

Bids are expected from Axis Industries, which is controlled by Icor concern, and from Vilniaus Nacionalinis Stadionas (Vilnius National Stadium), a venture established for the project by financially-troubled KDS Grupė in partnership with Poland’s Budimex.

Early in September, Krzysztof Koziol, a Budimex spokesman, told BNS that the company planned to take part in the tender if the local authority extended the deadline for submitting bids. Previously, Budimex said that it would opt out of the tender.
