Džiugelis leaves Lithuanian ruling party’s group in Seimas

“I don’t have the resources to withstand such a large-scale offensive and fight against such force. I made a rational decision not to continue this fight and to leave the LVŽS group,” he said at a news conference on Monday.

Džiugelis dismissed allegations by Ramūnas Karbauskis, the LVŽS leader, that he had tried to split the group and to put pressure on Environment Minister Kęstutis Navickas, adding that he would file a defamation complaint with prosecutors.
