End of WWII anniversary marked at Antakalnio Cemetery in Vilnius

The majority of the participants wore the orange-and-black St. George ribbons and carried red carnations, laying them on the memorial to victims of the war and presenting them to veterans of war.

Among the participants of the event were Russia‘s Ambassador Alexander Udaltsov and Belarusian Ambassador Alexander Korol.

Lithuania officially commemorated the end of World War Two in Europe on May 8.

Lithuania’s Ambassador to Russia Remigijus Motuzas also paid tribute to the victims of the war on Sunday. Meanwhile, Lithuania has refused to send official representatives to the military parade in Moscow on Monday for three consecutive years.
