EU Eastern Partnership program has “great future”, Lithuanian foreign minister says

“Latvia is taking over the baton of the EU Eastern Partnership policy. It will host a summit in May, previously held in Vilnius, and as you know, it sent ripples through the world, I would dare to say, not only through Europe. Just as we said then, those difficulties – not just mere difficulties as a war is taking place in Ukraine and people are dying; difficulties perhaps are in Georgia and Moldova – do not mean that this project has no future. Quite the opposite, it has a great future and we can be proud that we are taking active participation in it and with such spirit we are going to continue the cooperation among the three (Baltic – BNS) countries and it will remain among our priorities,” Linkevičius told a press conference at the Lithuanian parliament on Tuesday.

Lithuania took over the presidency of the Baltic Assembly, the organization for the cooperation of the Baltic parliaments, in January. The Seimas of Lithuania on Tuesday hosted a press conference on the priorities of the Lithuanian presidency.
