Chairman of the Lithuanian Chamber of Agriculture, Andriejus Stancikas, will attend the protest. According to him, farmers will demand support from the EU that would at least cover incurred losses. The chairman said that although the EU lifted quotas on milk production, sufficient funds were collected for exceeding quotas, thus it will be proposed to distribute these funds to farmers.
“That is what we have proposed so that the money is used effectively and those who have incurred losses would receive greater assistance. It should not be distributed equally,” the chairman told news agency ELTA last Friday.
