European Council President Tusk coming to Lithuania in mid-January

The Lithuanian government’s press service has said that Tusk will attend the event held at the Palace of Grand Dukes of Lithuania on 14 January to celebrate the adoption of the euro.

No further information is available from Lithuanian institutions about the agenda of Tusk’s visit.

Tusk, Poland‘s former prime minister, was appointed president of the European Council in December, replacing Herman van Rompuy of Belgium in the position.

Other participants of the euro adoption festivities in Vilnius will include European Commission (EC) Vice-President Valdis Dombrovskis.
