“The Group of Women has turned to the Ethics and Procedures Commission, asking it to analyze the parliamentarian’s behavior and evaluate the possibility of an impeachment procedure if Pūkas himself fails to assume responsibility, to apologize and to resign,” Liberal MP Aušrinė Armonaitė, head of the group, told reporters on Thursday.
“The evidence is so indisputable that an apology is the least he can do. We are calling on him to resign,” she said.
A motion to launch impeachment proceedings against a member of the Seimas can be put forward by a group of at least 36 lawmakers or by the Ethics and Procedures Commission.
