On November 9, the exercise Geležinis kardas 2015 (Iron Sword 2015) kicked off in Pabradė with deployment of 2,000 soldiers.

Military equipment has already started coming to Lithuania a few weeks ago. The UK has brought various military vehicles and other equipment through Klaipėda sea port. US military vehicles Bradley and tanks M1A2 Abrams have been brought to Rukla by train. Ten countries are sending troops to Lithuania: the Czech Republic, the US, the UK, Canada, Latvia, Poland, Ukraine, Hungary, Germany, Georgia, and also NATO Rapid Response Force Headquarters.
