“The successful and globally-valued experience of Aivaras Abromavičius in reforming the Ukrainian economy under conditions of crisis and war is of particular value. Therefore, we are glad that Abromavičius has agreed to use it not only in Ukraine, but also in Lithuania as a member of TS-LKD’s future government team,” Gabrielius Landsbergis, the conservative party’s leader, said in a press release on Thursday.
“We in Lithuania also face major challenges regarding state-owned companies whose operations are inefficient and non-transparent and where strong will, the highest level of competence and resistance to pressure from interest groups is required,” he added.
Abromavičius said that he wants to use the experience he has acquired in Ukraine in Lithuania as he is “a patriot of Ukraine and Lithuania”.
“Although Lithuania is much further advanced than Ukraine, it must move forward more rapidly to successfully compete in a globalized world and to keep up with its neighbours,” he said.
