Kaunas University of Technology (KTU), Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU) and Vytautas Magnus University (VDU) fell 700 places behind the best higher education institutions in the world.
Three British universities were among the top-5 on the list of the world’s best universities that was announced on Tuesday, telegraph.co.uk reports.
President of the Conference of Lithuanian University Rectors Petras Barsauskas says that the results shown by Lithuanian higher education establishments send an alarming message. The head of KTU says it is yet another sign that quality and not only quantity has to be taken into consideration. According to him, institutions that set their eyes on quality will prevail in the long-run.
Barsauskas says that there are more objective ratings than QS ranking, but adds that it should not be ignored altogether.
