Free Market Institute finds Vilnius administration as most efficient for 3 years

“Vilnius is the country’s attracting pole of investment, with two thirds of foreign investment concentrated here. This is the cause behind the biggest salaries and the lowest unemployment rate. The capital city is one of the biggest cities where more people came to live and work than left. As a matter of fact, other bigger cities are also catching up,” Aistė Čepukaitė, the head of the index, told a news conference on Wednesday.

In her words, Klaipėda ranks second with a more successful financial management, cost-effective management and the smallest debt among the largest cities. Kaunas is third with increasing investment, good financial and real estate management by the local government, followed by Šiauliai, Panevežys and Alytus.
