The burial sites of soldiers who died during World War One and World War Two are located in the districts of Jurbarkas and Vilkaviškis, south-west of Lithuania.
Remains of four German soldiers from World War Two were discovered in a forest near the village of Leipgiriai in Jurbarkas District.
Grave robbers also dug up a World War One burial site of German soldiers in the village of Kuršai, in Vilkaviškis District.
The police are investigating the crimes.
Local residents have told Lzinios.lt that grave robbers – or “black archaeologists” as they are locally known – have become increasingly active in recent years.
