Grybauskaitė and Adamkus most popular public figures in Lithuania

Prime Minister, Chairman of the Social Democratic Party of Lithuania (LSDP) Algirdas Butkevičius was next on the list, he was favourably evaluated by 62 percent of the polled. 52 percent of the respondents each favourably evaluated the Liberal Vilnius Mayor Remigijus Šimašius, social democratic MEP Vilija Blinkeviciūtė and Chairman of the Liberal Movement MP Eligijus Masiulis.

Ten other public figures were evaluated more favourably than unfavourably. These are: Member of Vilnius City Municipality Council economist Aušra Maldeikienė, social democratic European Commissioner Vytenis Povilas Andriukaitis, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security and Defence Artūras Paulauskas, conservative Deputy Speaker of Parliament Irena Degutienė, the leader of Lithuanian Peasant and Greens Union Ramūnas Karbauskis, social democratic Foreign Affairs Minister Linas Linkevičius, MP Naglis Puteikis, Chairman of the Labour Party MEP Valentinas Mazuronis, Kaunas Mayor Visvaldas Matijošaitis and member of the Liberal Movement MEP Antanas Guoga.

Seven politicians were evaluated the most unfavourably: Chairman of the Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania (LLRA) Valdemar Tomaševski was evaluated unfavourably by 70 percent of the polled, followed by the conservative leader of the Parliament’s Opposition Andrius Kubilius (69 percent), Honorary Chairman of the conservative’s Vytautas Landsbergis (66 percent), former Vilnius Mayor Artūras Zuokas (61 percent), founder of the Labour Party MEP Viktor Uspaskikh (59 percent), Parliament Speaker from the Labour Party Loreta Graužinienė (56 percent) and MP from the party Order and Justice Petras Gražulis (52 percent).

In September, compared with August, President Grybauskaitė’s ratings grew by 4, MP Gražulis’ by 4 and MEP Rolandas Paksas by 3 percentage points.

Meanwhile, 6-percentage-point drop in popularity was seen in the ratings of Liberal Movement leader Eligijus Masiulis, 5-percentage-point drop in those of MEP Mazuronis, MEP Guoga and former president Adamkus. The popularity of European Commissioner Andriukaitis dropped by 4 percentage points.

Ratings of other politicians did not change or changed within the margins of error.
