Karbauskis calls for reinforcing politicians’ accountability after NSGK probe

“The Seimas will have a basis after these conclusions to draw up bills on reinforcing law enforcement institutions’ capabilities to prevent such things and also reinforcing politicians’ accountability for such things,” Karbauskis told BNS Lithuania late on Wednesday.

He also said his party’s political group in the Seimas would back the NSGK conclusions in the parliament and the document should not face any obstacles.

“Many things came into light during this investigation, and they were not analyzed. So I hope the end of this investigation is only the beginning of a bigger process. As it would be strange if we did not go any further and did not carry out further investigations,” the politician said.
