The Lithuanian Social Democratic Party saw its ranks shrink by more than 600 to 18,500 members, from 19,100 six months ago.
The Liberal Movement had 7,800 members in early March, down from 7,900 last October.
The Lithuanian Farmers and Greens Union (LFGU), the party with the largest number of seats in the parliament, increased its ranks from 4,200 to 4,300 members.
The number of members of the conservative Homeland Union–Lithuanian Christian Democrats has fallen by several tens to 14,500 people.
The Emigrants’ Party registered the largest increase in membership, from 4,000 to 4,500 members.
Lithuanian political parties’ total membership grew from 115,000 to 117,000, but that was mostly due to the Lithuanian Christian Democratic Party declaring having 2,000 members. The party did not report its membership figure for the previous six months.
Political parties must provide their membership figures to the Justice Ministry twice a year, with Oct. 1 and Mar. 1 set as the deadlines.
