Lack of political experience may hamper new Govt’s work – opposition

“This job requires not only special knowledge, but it also has much to do with political experience and political professionalism. Since a significant part of the Cabinet members do not have that experience, some of them may find that performing these duties is not so easy,” said Andrius Kubilius, one of the leaders of the conservative Homeland Union –Lithuanian Christian Democrats, told BNS.

Eugenijus Gentvilas, one of the leaders of the Liberal Movement, notes that a part of the new ministers have not contributed in any way toward the LPGU’s program, which may turn out to be the biggest problem for the incoming government.

“Some of the LPGU’s ministers are not members of the party, but this is not a problem. However, they were not involved in the preparation of the party’s program either,” Gentvilas told BNS.

“On the other hand, this gives hope that they will not be committed to putting the LPGU’s radical elections promises into practice,” he added.
