The indicator of citizenships granted per population of 1,000 is 0.1 in the Lithuanian case, just as in Poland. A lower indicator was reported in Slovakia only.
According to Eurostat, the average indicator of granted citizenships is 1.6 per 1,000 residents.
The Estonian citizenship was granted far more times – 1.9 per population of 1,000 in 2012, almost twice more than the Latvian citizenship, 1 per 1,000.
In 2012, the Lithuanian citizenship was mostly conferred to individuals who had no citizenship before (47 percent of all cases) and to people who previously held citizenship of Russia (27.2 percent), Ukraine (11.4 percent) or Belarus (6.4 percent).
