Lithuania could recover EUR 1.5b damage, NSGK chair says after Seimas probe

“I believe we are capable of brining in the most talented lawyers, economists, finance and energy specialists working for the state, as we have such people, and try at least to recover that damage or the amount of illicit enrichment and present bills. (…) I will say this way: the value of tenders won by MG Baltic during the crisis stand at around 500 million euros. And the damage done by Vilniaus Prekyba with the LEO LT project could be up to one billion euros,” Bakas told the national LRT TV on Sunday.

In his words, it’s also important to take action and protect the state’s strategic sectors.

“The other thing we must do fast is to eliminate all business groups that are incompatible with our national security interests from our strategic sectors. We can do that through a government commission after evaluating their compatibility with national security interests. (…) Rosatom, Nukem and MG Baltic companies,” Bakas said.
