Lithuania expects EC’s support for Rail Baltica

“Rail Baltica is particularly important both to Lithuania and other Baltic countries which are seeking greater integration into the common European transport network. In order to see this internationally-important project successfully implemented, we need massive funding, the largest share of which is the European Union‘s investment. We expect the Commissioner’s approval and support regarding the issue,” the minister said.

The deadline for submitting a joint application of all three Baltic States to the EC is 26 February. It is planned that the EC will assign up to 85 percent of the necessary funds.
