Lithuania puts too little EU money into entrepreneurship and education, economist says

“Lithuania is investing too much in environmental protection which really is not our priority. I believe it is investing too much in infrastructure, which has already been sufficiently developed. However, it is investing too little in entrepreneurship and education,” said Mauricas.

From the European Union structural investments that Lithuania was allocated for 2014-2020, it will use approximately EUR 1.18 billion for infrastructure, EUR 837 million for environmental protection, EUR 532 million for promotion of small and medium-sized business, EUR 663 million for public education and development of human potential and EUR 678 million for scientific research.
