Lithuania should better inform emigrant about return possibilities – President

“It is crucial for not only the embassies but also the government in Lithuania to speed up the centralization of provision of the information,” Grybauskaitė told journalists at the President’s Office.

“There are many scattered institutions trying to assist those returning to Lithuania, however, the information is scattered, there are too few people and we should not just give the information but also later help the returnees to find jobs and kindergartens,” she added.

Grybauskaitė said that the country’s diplomatic missions abroad should do more than just provide formal consular services – they should consolidate the relations of the Lithuanian people with their home country.
