Lithuania targets service centres after Swedbank announcement

“We are talking with four or five companies about opening their service centres. I cannot say if they will come this year, but there are definitely businesses interested in Lithuania,” says Mantas Katinas, director of Invest Lithuania.

Swedbank has said its service centre in Vilnius will hire some 400 people over the coming three years. Many can expect above-average salaries.

“Average pay in service centres is about 1.5 times above the average, so even young people can expect starting salaries above what they’d get in regions,” Katinas says.

Fifty-four international companies have their service centres in Lithuania. Invest Lithuania says that Vilnius could attract as many more, while Kaunas and Klaipėda have not even begun tapping their potential.
