Lithuania to explore its amber deposits

“Lithuania will seek to supply itself with amber. So far, we have imported it from the amber-rich Russian region of Kaliningrad, but due to the political situation and worsened trade ties, trade in amber has halted completely. We hope to resolve this issue on our own,” Environment Minister Kęstutis Trečiokas was quoted as saying in a statement.
