Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius told journalists on Monday morning that a special parliamentary commission would be set up to organize the funeral.
Funeral services for Požela will be in St. Johns Church in Vilnius, with the funeral scheduled to take place at Antakalnio Cemetery on Wednesday.
“Last farewells at the St. Johns Church will start at 12 p.m. tomorrow, he will be cremated today,” Butkevičius said.
On Monday morning, funeral matters were discussed between the Social Democratic Party’s board and Požela’s wife and father.
