The Seimas Committee on Social Affairs and Labour decided on Friday to propose that the basic amount be set at 137 euros for 2018, five euros higher than the 132 euros amount proposed by the government.
The final decision will be made by the full parliament.
The basic amount, which is used to calculate the monthly salaries of politicians, judges, officers, civil servants and other state-budget funded employees, was cut from 141.9 euros to 130.5 euros in 2009 when Lithuania was in an economic crisis and has not been changed since.
